Mark Posniak - 18 February 2011
I couldn't have wished for a better start to 2011. OK, maybe England being thrashed by the Italians last weekend would have been a bonus but then you can't have everything.
So, why am I so chuffed? Well, this week we were crowned Best Short Term/ Bridging Lender at the high profile Mortgage Strategy awards. The awards, held at the Grosvenor hotel, were attended by 900 of the industry's finest mortgage brokers and lenders.
The official quote from the judges regarding the win was: "The bridging company other lenders should aspire to be. They provide first class service, products and underwriting."
Commenting on the award, Jonathan Samuels, our CEO, said: "It is an honour to receive such a prestigious award, all the more so in front of the industry's leading personalities. We are still only a young company but this award goes to show what can you achieve with the right people, and at Drawbridge we have a fantastic team.
"We're certainly not going to sit on our laurels but intend to carry on innovating productwise throughout 2011 and placing even more emphasis on our customer service levels. Finally, I'd like to say a heartfelt thanks to our key partners, without whom none of this would be possible."
The award isn't the only reason we are on a high right now. We're only half way through February but already we've completed the same amount of deals that we did in the first four months of last year, including one £2.5 million loan that we wrapped up in less than three days. The mainstream property market may have ground to a standstill but the professional property investors out there are more active than ever and demand for short-term finance is high.
Finally, although 2011 has started on a really positive note, we're still keen to improve our proposition in whatever way we can so if you have any suggestions, please drop us a line at any time.
